ARTICLE 1 FROM VOLUME 5:
PROPERTY OWNERS OF SHOPPING CENTERS ARE DEDICATED TO REVITALIZATION VIA DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION
Mobile solutions are more important than ever for owners of shopping real estate.
Malls, shopping centers, strip malls and big box retail locations still operate primarily in the physical world, with foot traffic, store associates, stocked shelves, and convenient delivery options all key factors to brick and mortar retail success. Incredible process has been made in the past few years, accelerated by the pandemic, to create more digital and contactless approaches to brick and mortar retail. Examples include Omnichannel shopping (click and collect), contactless payments, and curbside pickup.
However, there is enormous pressure to further digitize the consumer experience as much as possible, for the consumer’s convenience, better communications, contactless experiences, and the improved Clienteling discussed previously in Volume 4. QR codes are an interesting development which have been widely embraced by consumers in Asia for many years, and the pandemic appears to finally be providing the necessary incentive for consumer adoption in the United States:
Customers are starting to use QR codes with their smart phones to get more product information, register for services, process warranty forms, etc. Our Brand Media ID solution takes the QR code experience to a new level – it enables store-wide communication between each store customer and store staff, using the Social Retail platform upon which it is built. Scanning a QR-code for our company’s solution ushers in a new phase of Clienteling, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and even brand advertising. Each of these items will be further outlined in the next Volume 5 articles.
